Today I’m going to explain Memory Maker and PhotoPass, Disney World’s services for capturing memories of your trip. If it’s your first visit you might be wondering, “What on earth is this?” — after reading this post it’ll all make sense at a glance!
🎫 What is Memory Maker?
Memory Maker is a pass that lets you download every photo and video taken through Disney PhotoPass, without limits. There are more than 175 photo spots and 15 attraction photo locations across Disney World, and you can download all the high-resolution photos taken by professional photographers.
(💡 Put simply, it’s a pass that lets you keep all of your Disney PhotoPass photos in one go!)
📸 What is PhotoPass?
PhotoPass is a service where Disney cast members take your photos. They’re mostly stationed on Main Street, at landmark spots in each park, and in character greeting areas.
At a PhotoPass spot you’ll find a cast member in a bright neon-green outfit with a SONY camera around their neck.
📍 Where to find PhotoPass photographers Search for “PhotoPass” in the Disney app (Map tab) to see the PhotoPass spots in the park.

The Disney World app
📱 What happens after your photo is taken
- When the shoot is done, the cast member holds out a scanner.
- Tap your park ticket (or MagicBand), and
- the photos upload automatically to your Disney World app.
- If you’ve bought Memory Maker, you can download every uploaded photo in high resolution.
⏱ Coverage period & download window
Every photo taken during the 30 days from when you activate Memory Maker is included. Each photo can be downloaded within 45 days of the day it was taken. (After 45 days it expires automatically and is hard to recover.)
Also, if you link up to 25 family members or friends in your Family & Friends list, you can download their PhotoPass photos too. (Only one person needs to buy Memory Maker!)
💵 Price (as of 2025)

- Buy on the day: $210
Plan ahead and save $25!
