- The Fantasmic! package covers one main, dessert and drink each; four of us paid $278.82 with tip
- The BBQ burger was the standout, and the very sweet desserts and milkshakes are best shared
- It's dark enough to need a flashlight for the menu, and your server will happily take a group photo

At Hollywood Studios I chose the Fantasmic! dining package, and of the participating restaurants I booked the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. In this post I’ll share an honest review of this much-asked-about restaurant, along with details on the menu.
🎬 Like Stepping into a Classic Drive-In Theater
As the name suggests, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater recreates a 1950s–60s American drive-in movie theater. After checking in and walking down the hallway, the moment you step inside you’re greeted by a deep blue night sky, twinkling star lights, and classic cars lined up in front of a big screen. It honestly felt like being teleported into a movie scene.
Our reservation was for 4:30 p.m. When we arrived, the server checked our name and showed us straight to our seats.

🚗 Seating: One Car = Four Seats
Each “car” seats four people:
- 2 in the front seat
- 2 in the back seat
The seats are designed to look exactly like cars, so the Disney charm and immersion are excellent. The restaurant is kept dark like a movie theater — we even had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. But that darkness really brings the retro theater atmosphere to life.

The screen plays a continuous loop of 1950s B-movie sci-fi clips, cartoons and old commercials, so there’s never a dull moment during your meal.
🍔 What the Fantasmic! Package Includes
The dining package includes, per person:
- 1 main
- 1 dessert
- 1 drink
So overall it’s a generous meal. Here’s what we ordered.
✔️ Mains
-
Classic American Burger × 2
The most basic option, but well balanced. A soft bun, juicy patty and fresh toppings come together in a classic, reliable burger.
-
Drive-in BBQ Burger × 2
A thick patty with smoky BBQ sauce for a rich flavor, topped with crispy onion rings for extra crunch. Recommended if you like bold flavors!
✦ Personally, I liked the BBQ burger better. The aroma and flavor were noticeably stronger, and I was very happy with it.
✔️ Desserts
-
Cerulean Moon
A pretty, very sweet dessert with a soft mousse texture.
-
Caramel Brownie Cheesecake
The ultimate in sweet and dense. It’s really, really sweet! Recommended if you love rich desserts.
-
Fresh Fruit Salad × 2
With so many sweet items on the table, the fruit salad felt like a palate cleanser.
✦ The desserts are very sweet overall, so one per person can be a lot. I’d recommend ordering one or two and sharing.
✔️ Drinks
-
Vanilla Milkshake, Oreo Cookie Milkshake
One of the restaurant’s signature items! These are thick, rich American-style milkshakes, so do try one.
✦ They’re sweet and can be a lot for one person, so I’d suggest two people sharing one!
-
Coke × 2

Oops, I forgot to take photos before we ate…
💵 Price & Bill
Here’s what we paid in total:
- Food: $242.82
- Tip (20%): $36
- Total: $278.82
This includes the Fantasmic! package, so it’s a bit pricier. If you visit the restaurant on its own, expect somewhere around $220–$250.
📸 Ask a Cast Member to Take Your Photo
I was a bit sad not to have any “before” photos, but when we asked our server, they happily took a group photo for us!

If you’re visiting with family or friends, definitely ask a Cast Member. The atmosphere makes it a great spot for memory photos.
🧾 A Cute Disney Detail!
The receipt we got after paying is printed to look like a “PARKING VIOLATION” ticket. Such a cute, clever detail that fits the drive-in theme perfectly. I was impressed all over again — a moment fans of Disney’s attention to detail will love!

✨ Final Verdict: I Recommend It!
Thanks to its:
- Unique concept
- Excellent attention to detail
- Tasty American burgers
- Solid package
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a restaurant worth experiencing at least once. If you’re planning a visit to Hollywood Studios — and especially if you’re considering the Fantasmic! package — I recommend it even more!
